MATERIALS:
GEMSTONES: I have dedicated myself to sourcing the best quality gemstones for my jewellery and consider myself fortunate to have found the loveliest supplier of gemstones here in the UK (I call her my gemstone fairy). The gemstones I use are natural and this means that they will have natural inclusions and colour variations - no two strands are alike. Therefore, the colour of your stones will vary slightly from the photos you see online.
GOLD-FILLED: Gold-filled jewellery offers the beauty and elegance of gold without the huge cost of solid gold. With proper care, your gold-filled jewellery can maintain their lustre and shine for a life-time. I use both 14k and 18k gold-filled materials in my pieces.
Gold filled is made by bonding a layer of gold to a solid brass/steel or sterling silver core using heat and pressure. Most of the clasps I use, like the oval, screw clasps used with the Ana-Maria necklace, are made with certified 925 Sterling Silver core and a layer of 18k gold. This is the highest quality of gold-filled material available. If cared for properly, gold-filled materials will look as beautiful as the day you received it for many years to come.
NOTE: In some cases, due to a person’s personal chemistry, some people may react to the core materials used. Please keep this in mind when ordering. If you typically react to brass-based or silver materials, drop us an email at hello@bypriscilla-london and we can discuss other options.
SUPPLY CHAIN: I believe in keeping supply chains small and support local, UK-based businesses where possible. I’m proud to have established relationships with a hand-full of UK-based suppliers for the majority of the materials I use to make my pieces.
